WONDER WOMAN: 12" MEGO DOLL & OUTFITS - Canadian Versions
released by Parkdale Novelty and Grand Toys, item #?????

The Canadian releases were from Parkdale Novelty (first) and Grand Toys (second), and included two 12.5" doll releases and separately carded outfits.

The first release (Parkdale Novelty) contained exactly the same doll and accessories as the first-release American version, with the exception of the packaging. The doll was the first- issue 12.5" doll version of Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman, with the natural skin tone and painted-on costume. The included outfit was the Yeoman First Class Diana Prince outfit. Both the box and front flap featured English and French text. The flap also included a photo of the doll in her Diana Prince outfit, and a Mego logo.

The second-release Canadian version (Grand Toys) mixed the first and second-release American versions together. The doll and outfit were as above, but the package also included the "Fly Away Action" device. Both the box and front flap featured English and French text. The flap also included a photo of the doll in her Diana Prince outfit, and both a Mego logo and a Grand Toys logo on the front.

The package back featured ten photos of dolls. The last three photos are of Nubia, Queen Hippolyte, and Steve Trevor. But the first seven photos are of Diana Prince outfits, which were sold separately (carded) in Canada. The outfits included "Grecian," "Plum Crazy," "Lipstick," "Red Cross," "Diana Prince," "Classic," and "Black Belt."

The carded Wonder Woman outfits (releasing company unknown) were on a cardboard backer with clear bubble. The front of the backer contained a Dick Giordano drawing of Wonder Woman, while the back featured many Diana Prince figures drawn by Dick Giordano. An example of the "Lipstick" outfit is below, courtesy of John Bonaventura's Megoheadtoys site. John is also the author of Mego Action Figure Toys with Values (now in its third edition!).
